BACKGROUND:

The School Board of Broward County has established a School Resource Officer (SRO) Program pursuant to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act. The SRO Program is a great benefit to school administration, students, and the community as a whole.

DISCUSSION:

The attached SRO Agreement provides for one (1) SRO at Coconut Creek Elementary for summer school, commencing June 24, 2024, and ending July 18, 2024, for which the City will receive the sum of $8,864.70 from the School Board.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
