A PRESENTATION RECOGNIZING THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE MARGATE-COCONUT CREEK FIRE DEPARTMENT’S EXTRICATION COMPETITION TEAM.

BACKGROUND:
The Margate-Coconut Creek Fire Rescue Extrication Team recently competed in the North American Vehicle Rescue Association (NAVRA) Extrication Challenge in Jacksonville, Florida. The challenge sees world class rescue teams compete annually in an event designed to challenge emergency service personnel and raise awareness of the global problem of road death and injury. During the challenge, teams are presented with several different scenarios that test their ability to develop an operational plan and successfully extricate the casualty within an allotted period of time.
The Margate-Coconut Creek Fire Rescue Extrication team came in first place overall after achieving the following rankings in the five challenge categories:
• 2nd Place - Limited Pit
• 1st Place - Unlimited Pit
• 1st Place - Overall Command
• 3rd Place - Overall Medical
• 2nd Place - Overall Technical
