BACKGROUND:

The City applied for and was awarded grant funding from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for the FY25 Impaired Driving Grant in the amount of $35,000.00.

DISCUSSION:

In alignment with the City’s commitment to public safety, awarded grant funding will be used to assist with the campaign in educating the public on impaired driving. The grant will offset expenses for overtime allowing the Coconut Creek Police Department to participate in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” enforcement campaign and DUI enforcement, as well as assist with funding community education activities.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
