A MOTION TO WAIVE THE BUILDING AND ENGINEERING PERMIT FEES FOR SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGES ASSOCIATED WITH THE APPROVED SITE PLAN MODIFICATION FOR THE ADDITION TO EXISTING ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES CONSISTENT WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 13-83(4)N.2. OF THE CITY’S LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE.

BACKGROUND:
On April 8, 2021, SOS Children’s Villages received Commission approval to construct an addition to the existing administrative offices. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, SOS Children’s Villages is requesting a waiver of 75% of the building and engineering permit fees associated with the construction of the administrative offices addition. Such a request is consistent with Section 13-83(4)n.2. of the City’s Land Development Code for 501(c)(3) organizations within City boundaries.
DISCUSSION:
The building permit for the construction of the SOS Children’s Villages administrative office addition is currently under review. Building permit fees are estimated to be approximately $19,000.00. Engineering permit fees are estimated to be $3,000.00. Based on these estimated permit fee amounts, through this motion, the City would be waiving approximately $16,500.00

Staff recommends approval of this motion.
