BACKGROUND:
American Heart Month was established by President Lyndon B. Johnson in December 1963 in acknowledgement of the importance of the ongoing fight against cardiovascular disease. The City of Coconut Creek recognizes February as American Heart Month to encourage its residents to adopt healthy lifestyle habits that reduce their risk of heart disease.
