BACKGROUND:
The City recognizes March 2024 as “Procurement Month” and March 13, 2024, as “Procurement Professionals’ Day” in order to bring awareness and celebrate with pride the role of the public procurement profession. Procurement professionals deserve this acknowledgement, playing vital roles, not just in the public sector, but also within organizations across virtually all industries.
By celebrating Procurement Month and Procurement Professionals’ Day, we acknowledge a dedicated group of professionals that have made a difference in governmental efficiency and effectiveness. This month provides the opportunity to help educate elected officials, administrators, taxpayers, and vendors about the procurement process and the admirable work performed every day by the City’s procurement professionals.
