A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH BAYSHORE CONSTRUCTION, INC. TO REMOVE AND REPLACE THE EXISTING WOOD BOARDWALK AT SABAL PINES PARK PURSUANT TO BID NO. 01-20-21-11.

body
BACKGROUND:
On December 6, 2020, the City issued Bid No. 01-20-21-11 to contract with a qualified general contractor to remove and replace the existing wood boardwalk at Sabal Pines Park. The existing wood boardwalk is over twenty years old, in very poor condition, and has exceeded its useful life. The replacement boardwalk will feature a PermaTrak decorative concrete boardwalk system.
DISCUSSION:
The City issued four hundred and eighteen (418) electronic invitations to bid for the Sabal Pines Park Wood Boardwalk Replacement project. Ten (10) submittals were received with one (1) submittal by Continental Construction USA deemed non-responsive. The remaining nine (9) responsive submittals were received from the following contractors: 1) Bayshore Construction, Inc. ($360,476.00); 2) Anzco, Inc. ($368,000.00); 3) Tadeos Engineering, LLC ($377,560.00); 4) Interstate Construction, LLC ($384,250.00); 5) RPM General Contractors, Inc. ($400,925.00); 6) MBR Construction, Inc. ($412,959.00); 7) Green Engineering & Construction, Inc. ($441,000.00); 8) Sagaris Corp. ($445.000.00); and 9) Underwater Engineering Services, Inc. ($488,866.77).
After confirmation of references and past performance, staff recommends awarding the contract to the lowest responsive bidder, Bayshore Construction, Inc., for a total amount not to exceed $396,523.60, which is inclusive of a ten percent (10%) contingency. The agreement provides for final project completion one hundred eighty (180) calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed.
