body

BACKGROUND:

The applicant, Crescent Creek Homeowners Association, is requesting $11,226.50 in matching grant funds from the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program.  The proposed project seeks to enhance the aesthetics and sustainability of the community by installing landscaping consistent with the redesigned landscape buffer plan. The project is eligible under the multi-phase design project category of the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program Guidelines. The Crescent Creek community is located on the north side of Hillsboro Boulevard, east of Lyons Road. Access to the community is from Crescent Creek Drive off of NW 39th Avenue.

DISCUSSION:

The City is committed to enhancing community aesthetics and promoting a positive environmental image; this grant project furthers this strategic initiative.  The applicant has proposed a two part multi-phase project. Phase I of the project designed a new landscape buffer plan for the Crescent Creek community. Phase II of the multi-phase project proposes to install landscaping consistent with the redesigned landscape buffer plan.  The Crescent Creek original landscape material was no longer compatible with surrounding areas due to the size and growth habit.  Crescent Creek has completed Phase I. This grant application is for Phase II (installation) of the proposed project. The Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program has a $65,000 budget for Fiscal Year 2021 (FY21). To date, $4,720 has been awarded through the program. Crescent Creek Phase II would be the second Neighborhood Enhancement Grant of FY 2021.This grant project is a further enhancement of the community and satisfies the standards established by the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program.
