A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE THE ATTACHED CONSENT TO ASSIGNMENT IN ORDER TO PROVIDE CONSENT FOR THE ASSIGNMENT OF THE AGREEMENT WITH SUNSHINE CLEANING SYSTEMS, INC. FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES PURSUANT TO RFP NO. 09-02-20-09 TO SUNSHINE CLEANING SYSTEMS, LLC; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE THE ATTACHED AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE AGREEMENT WITH SUNSHINE CLEANING SYSTEMS, LLC TO REVISE THE LOCATION OF JANITORIAL SERVICES.

BACKGROUND:
On October 22, 2020, the City and Sunshine Cleaning Systems, Inc. entered into an agreement to provide janitorial services pursuant RFP No. 09-02-20-09. The term of the contract commenced on December 6, 2020, and is set to expire on December 5, 2023, with two (2) one (1) year renewals thereafter unless terminated by either party in accordance with the agreement. On December 9, 2021, the City approved Amendment No. 1 to the agreement, which added additional janitorial services to the City’s Recreation Complex, Community Center, and Temporary Fire Station #113.
DISCUSSION:
With the relocation of the Fire Rescue Administrative Offices, the City no longer needs janitorial service to Temporary Fire Station #113, but does need services for the Temporary Fire Rescue Administration Office space located at 4701 Johnson Road. Additionally, the inclusion of the bus stops (the number of bus stops has increased over the past few years) to this cleaning agreement allows the Public Works Department to better service and complete other City projects and requests. Not having to hire and dedicate a new employee for this service with the added necessity of pulling manpower for this daily task whenever the regular employee is out is essential to our efficiency. The adjustment of these services to add and remove the sites listed above increases the total budget by $100,745.44. In addition, the City received notification from Sunshine Cleaning Systems, Inc. that they were changing their name to Sunshine Cleaning Systems, LLC and were seeking a Consent to Assignment in accordance with the aforementioned agreement. This resolution approves the proposed Amendment No. 2 to the agreement and the assignment to recognize the company’s name change.
