body

BACKGROUND:

As part of the development of the First Sawgrass Commerce Center project, water and wastewater infrastructure was installed. The water and wastewater infrastructure was constructed per City standards and specifications and will be dedicated to the City. The utility easements to be transferred to the City are more particularly described in Composite Exhibit “1.”

DISCUSSION:

The City is committed to ensuring continuity and expansion of utility services, as well as efficient and effective customer service. The developer, at its cost, has designed and constructed water and wastewater infrastructure for the total amount of $260,087.00 to serve the First Sawgrass Commerce Center development and to be an integral part of the City’s system. These facilities were designed and constructed per City standards and will be dedicated to the City by way of a bill of sale. In order to access the water and wastewater infrastructure, the City must also accept the utility easements from the developer.  Per city code section 13-42. (c) - “Transactions involving the city's interests in real property,” utility easements that are being dedicated to the City must be accepted by the City Commission via a resolution. This resolution accepts the utility easements as described in Exhibit “1.”
