BACKGROUND:

The City would like to recognize Principal Jim Neer for his longstanding and dedicated public service to the City of Coconut Creek and its residents.

Principal Neer has worked in the Broward County School System for the past 38 years.  He began his career here in 1984 when he moved to Florida from Michigan and began working as a Special Education teacher at Ramblewood Middle School.  Following that, he was Assistant Principal at Ramblewood Middle School, Assistant Principal at Margate Middle School, Principal of Crystal Lake Middle School, and finally, in July of 2009, became Principal of Monarch High School in Coconut Creek.

Mr. Neer has been a dedicated school administrator.  In 2016, he was selected as a Florida Principal Leadership Award Honoree by Florida TaxWatch, which recognizes top performing principals who exceed learning gains in high-risk schools.  Mr. Neer has also been a valued friend and partner to the City of Coconut Creek, and we wish him the best in his well-deserved retirement.
