BACKGROUND:
As an ever present champion of environmental stewardship, the City of Coconut Creek recognizes International Compost Awareness Week May 5 - May 11, 2024, to help educate the public on the benefits of composting.
Composting is a way of returning organic resources to the soil, conserving water during extreme drought or flooding conditions, reducing water consumption and non-point pollution, reducing waste, decreasing the dependence on chemical fertilizers, and decreasing erosion.
