A PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING MAY 7, 2024, AS “FOOD FOR THE POOR DAY.”

BACKGROUND:
Food For The Poor was founded by Ferdinand Mahfood and his brothers to battle malnutrition, poverty, unsafe housing, unsafe drinking water, vulnerable children, and lack of medical care in Latin America and the Caribbean. For the last 42 years, Food For The Poor has orchestrated a legacy of love and compassion for impoverished men, women, and children; and since January 15, 2007, the organization has been carrying out this mission from their Coconut Creek, Florida headquarters.
On May 7, 2024, Food For The Poor will begin a food match campaign in advance of World Hunger Day on May 28 to raise awareness about the critical issues of food insecurity, hunger, and malnutrition in support of the organization’s commitment to ending hunger.
